PRO-6 logs zero focus crimes in 24 hours

ILOILO CITY — The Police Regional Office 6 recorded no focus crimes during a 24-hour monitoring period across Western Visayas.

PRO-6 reported no cases of murder, homicide, physical injury, rape, robbery, theft, motor vehicle carnapping, motorcycle theft, or kidnapping during the period.

Police Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño, Western Visayas police chief, said the absence of focus-crime incidents reflected the police force’s commitment to duty and the community’s support.

“Magandang balita para sa bawat pamilya sa Kanlurang Visayas ang isang araw na walang naitalang focus crime. Patunay ito na kapag nagtutulungan ang kapulisan, mga lokal na pamahalaan, at mga responsableng mamamayan, mas napapanatili natin ang kapayapaan sa ating mga komunidad,” he added.

Tuaño said the achievement would not prompt police to ease their anti-criminality campaign.

He said PRO-6 had further intensified its campaign against illegal drugs.

During the same 24-hour period, PRO-6 units conducted four anti-illegal drug operations that resulted in the arrest of six people.

Police confiscated 277 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of PHP 1.88 million.

PRO-6 also conducted operations against wanted persons, smuggling, illegal fishing, illegal logging, and violations of local ordinances.

Focus crimes are closely monitored offenses used by police to assess crime trends and guide law enforcement deployments and prevention measures.
