Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño, Western Visayas police chief, clarified that Oplan Sagip Bata is not limited to apprehending minors for traffic and other ordinance violations.
He said the program is also intended to guide and protect young people from the dangers they may encounter on the road.
PRO-6 called on parents and guardians to closely supervise their children, particularly minors who operate vehicles.
Tuaño also urged local governments and schools to support police efforts to promote road safety awareness and child protection.
