The first day of the reopening of classes went peaceful and orderly, the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) reported.
No untoward incident related to the reopening of classes had been recorded.
PRO-6 attributed these to the unit commanders’ deployment of police personnel in identified strategic areas to ensure that students, parents, and the general public are safe and secure and traffic flow is smooth.
These deployments include the establishment of Police Assistance Desks (PADs) in schools, dispatch of road safety marshals, and mobile, foot, and detective patrols.
Further, the Traffic Enforcement Units of local government units, barangay officials, tanods, and force multipliers were also tapped for the purpose.
“Ako’y natutuwa na tahimik at matiwasay ang unang araw ng pasokan. Nagpapasalamat tayo sa lahat na mga stakeholders na tumulong, ito po and resulta ng ating collective effort,” Brigadier General Leo Francisco, Western Visayas police chief, said.
As the classes continue, PRO-6 appeals to parents/guardians to properly brief their children on the do’s and don’t’s while crossing the streets, in schools, and in other public areas.
