PRO-6 chief lauds Bacolod weekend drug stings

BACOLOD City – Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 regional director, Brigadier General Flynn E. Dongbo, lauded the series of anti-illegal drug operations conducted by the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Group-Special Operation Unit (PDEG-SOU)-6 that resulted in the confiscation of P3,712,800 worth of suspectted shabu.

Dongbo said these operations serve as a warning to drug peddlers that authorities will catch with them if they continue with their trade.

The recent buy-bust operation was conducted by the BCPO Police Station 2  and PDEG-SOU6 at about 1:39 a.m. Monday at Purok Tinagong Paraiso, Zone 3, Barangay Banago, Bacolod City.

The subject was Carlo Arevalo, 24, of Banago village.

Recovered from Arevalo were 11 sachets of suspected shabu weighing around 55 grams and valued at P374, 000.00.

On March 13, 2022, at around 5:45 a.m., BCPO PS2 and PDEG-SOU6 operatives nabbed Mark Arevalo, 21; and Jeremy Booc, 21, both are residents of Purok Lampirong, Barangay 2 here.

On accounts of police operatives, the duo was arrested after selling to a police poseur-buyer a sachet of suspected shabu worth P11,000.

Police also recovered from their possession 8 plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing about 41 grams and valued at P278,800.

Mark Arevalo and Carlo Arevalo were brothers.

The largest volume of suspected drugs was seized at Purok Kahirup, Barangay Singcang-Airport on March 12 by BCPO Police Station 8 operatives.

Around 450 grams of suspected shabu was recovered from Joey Piestaño, 31 of the same barangay.

The seized substance was valued at P3.060 million.

The four suspects are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
