ILOILO CITY — Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) broke ground Thursday for a new water system and office building worth a combined PHP 25 million at its headquarters in Camp Martin Delgado.
Maj. Gen. Martin Defensor Jr., PNP director for logistics, led the groundbreaking ceremony for the PHP 5 million water system and the PHP 20 million Regional Logistics Research and Development Division (RLRDD) building on Oct. 9.
Defensor was joined by DILG Undersecretary for Public Safety Jed Patrick Mabilog; Iloilo Provincial Administrator Dr. Raul Banias, representing Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr.; and PRO-6 Regional Director Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño.
The water system is intended to improve basic facilities and promote the welfare of PRO-6 personnel.
The project was funded through a memorandum of agreement and donation from the Iloilo provincial government.
EON Construction & Supply will undertake the project, which aims to establish an improved and sustainable water system at the regional police headquarters.
Tuaño said the project represents the continuing partnership between PRO-6 and the Iloilo provincial government in providing essential facilities and services.
“More than the construction of a water facility, this project is an investment in a reliable water supply, improved working conditions, and the continued welfare of PRO6 personnel,” he said.
Meanwhile, the new RLRDD building was funded through a Special Allotment Release Order.
The PHP 20 million project is intended to provide a dedicated and improved facility to support the operational and administrative requirements of PRO-6.
The project is currently up for bidding, with the contractor yet to be determined.
Tuaño said the new structure represents PRO-6’s continuing investment in modern, functional and sustainable facilities.
