The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) cited 10 personnel for their respective accomplishments.
The awarding was done during the flag raising ceremony at the PRO-6 Grandstand at Camp Martin Delgado, Iloilo City on June 13.
Brigadier General Flynn Dongbo, Western Visayas police chief, pinned the medals to the awardees.
The Medalya ng Kagalingan or the PNP Merit Medal was awarded to Major Kenneth Jay Gratones and Corporal Eduardo Gale, both members of the Iloilo City Police Station 5, for the successful arrest of Nestor Navarra on Nov. 28, 2021 at Carmina, Cavite.
Navarra was on the region’s most wanted person list for the crime of murder.
On the other hand, Lieutenant Colonel Francisco Paguia of the Capiz Police Provincial Office-Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and Corporal Jayson Celoso of the Roxas Component City received the Medalya ng Papuri (Commendation Medal) for the arrest of Jerry Valerio.
Valerio was collared in a buy-bust operation at Barangay Punta Tabuc, Roxas City, Capiz on Dec. 10, 2021.
The same medal was awarded to Major Roberto Indiape Jr. and Staff Sergeant Michael Tuazon of Calatrava Municipal Police Station in Negros Occidental for the arrest of Jennifer Bargamento.
Bargamento was nabbed for murder at Barangay Lo-ok, Calatrava on Oct. 18, 2021.
Meanwhile, the Medalya ng Kasanayan or the PNP Efficiency Medal was given to Major Henry Gaborno and Ronnel Servigon of the Regional Operations Division for ensuring a peaceful and organized implementation of security operations for the 2022 national and local elections.
The region recorded zero major incident during the election period from January to May 2022.
The same medal was given to Lieutenant Antonio Monreal, Jr. and Corporal Dominic Buenavista of Regional Operations Division.
Dongbo lauded the awardees for the exemplary performances they exhibited in their respective fields of assignment.
He also urged other policemen to display outstanding performance in the exercise of their duty.
