The Iloilo City Police Office was named Best City Police Office for its commitment to law enforcement excellence, public safety, and community service, with Police Col. Kim P. Legada, city director, accepting the award.
Barangay Semirara in Caluya, Antique, received the Best Barangay for Peace and Order Initiatives title for maintaining a strong and sustainable grassroots peace and order program, with Barangay Chairperson Catherine Lim-Tahum accepting the recognition.
Iloilo City was declared Best Highly Urbanized Independent City for its partnership with the PNP in sustaining peace and security, including investments in upgraded police facilities and modern equipment, with Atty. Jerry Treñas, former mayor and current city government special adviser, receiving the award.
Police Brig. Gen. Josefino D. Ligan, PRO-6 regional director, said the awards reflect the dedication of both the police force and the communities they serve.
“These recognitions inspire us to continue serving with honor, justice, and integrity,” Ligan said. “Let us always remember that when we work together, success follows. Let’s continue to make PRO-6 the KasaLIGAN, Kaapin, at Kaagapay of Western Visayas.”
The PSA is celebrated annually to honor the founding of the Philippine Constabulary in 1901, the forerunner of the PNP, and to recognize outstanding units, local governments, and individuals contributing to law enforcement nationwide.
