Police Regional Office 6 arrested two of Western Visayas’ most wanted individuals in separate operations in Aklan and Iloilo provinces, reinforcing its intensified crackdown on fugitives.
On Nov. 21 at 12:58 p.m., operatives of the Kalibo Municipal Police Station arrested a 20-year-old suspect known as “Dandan” in his home barangay.
He is listed as the Top 9 Most Wanted Person at the provincial level in Aklan.
The arrest was carried out under a warrant issued on Nov. 19 by Regional Trial Court Branch 2 of the 6th Judicial Region in Kalibo, Aklan, for attempted murder.
The court recommended bail at PHP 120,000.
On Nov. 20 at 4:30 p.m., joint tracker teams from the Regional Intelligence Division 6 and the Miagao Municipal Police Station arrested “Dodong Larion,” a 70-year-old farmer from Barangay Palaca, Miagao, Iloilo.
He was arrested in Barangay Guibongan, Miagao, under a warrant for violating Section 5(b) of Republic Act 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.
He is listed as the Top 9 Most Wanted Person in Iloilo province and the Top 4 in Miagao town.
The warrant was issued on Nov. 19 by Regional Trial Court Branch 67 in Guimbal, Iloilo, with bail set at PHP 200,000.
Police Regional Office 6 Regional Director Police Brigadier General Jose Ligan commended the arresting units for their prompt action and professionalism.
“These arrests reflect PRO-6’s strong commitment to delivering justice and protecting the vulnerable,” Ligan said. “Whether the crime involves violence, abuse, or any threat to our communities, we will relentlessly pursue and apprehend those who attempt to evade the law. Our people deserve peace and safety, and PRO-6 will continue working tirelessly to uphold these.”
Police Regional Office 6 also urged the public to support law enforcement by reporting individuals with outstanding arrest warrants.
