BACOLOD City — The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) recently launched a Poverty Reduction, Livelihood and Employment Cluster (PRLEC) project dubbed “Caduha-an Agro-Tourism and Livelihood Development Project” at Sitio Aluyan, Brgy. Caduha-an, Cadiz City.
Caduha-an Punong Barangay Joebert Javier cited TESDA for its continuing effort to serve people at the grassroots despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 disease pandemic, TESDA Information Officer Jenie Notchite said.
Javier said he was glad that Caduha-an was one of the recipients of the organic agriculture production since it is positioning to become an agri-tourism site.
TESDA VI Regional Director Jerry Tizon emphasized that PRLEC is a convergence program of all government agencies and not by TESDA alone.
“To our partner agencies, we need to work together in order to achieve the goal of the PRLEC towards poverty reduction and in addressing the needs of people in the conflict-affected community,” Tizon said.
Executive Assistant Eduardo Javier, who represented Mayor Salvador Escalante of Cadiz, thanked PRLEC saying he looks forward for more technical vocational education and training (TVET) programs implementation in Cadiz City.
TESDA Acting Provincial Director Romelia Nuezca said that the skills training on Organic Agriculture Production National Competency (NC) II was just one of the interventions the cluster members rolled out.
The training will be funded by the Training for Work Scholarship Program of TESDA. Scholarship benefits include free training cost, free assessment, internet allowance, one-year accident insurance, health and personal protective equipment allowance and training support allowance of 160 per day, she added.
The training runs for 29 days from July 6 to August 2 with TESDA Provincial Training Center-Cadiz as the training provider. (PIA)
