BORACAY, Aklan — PrimeRES Energy Corporation, a licensed retail electricity supplier, has signed separate power-supply partnerships with two Boracay hotel groups to lower their electricity costs through the Retail Aggregation Program.
The company sealed the agreements with the Mandarin Premier Hotels & Resorts Group and the La Carmela de Boracay Hotel and Convention Center Corporation through ceremonial contract signings on June 25, 2026.
Both groups will pool the energy demand of their island properties under single power agreements to secure lower-cost electricity.
The Mandarin Premier Hotels & Resorts Group grouped six of its properties into one agreement through the Competitive Retail Electricity Market and the Retail Aggregation Program, with an aggregated load of approximately 1,200 kW, or 1.2 MW.
The La Carmela de Boracay Hotel and Convention Center Corporation grouped four of its facilities under the Retail Aggregation Program, with an aggregated load of approximately 500 kW, or 0.5 MW.
The Mandarin signing was held at the Mandarin Bay Resort & Spa Convention Center, while the La Carmela ceremony took place at the La Carmela de Boracay Hotel and Convention Center.
Through the program, both groups are able to pool the demand of multiple smaller meters to reach the threshold for more competitive, wholesale-style energy rates.
The arrangement lowers generation charges across each hotel group, providing a more predictable and cost-effective energy strategy for their Boracay operations.
PrimeRES described the partnerships as a major shift for Boracay’s hospitality sector, showing how large resort groups can use the program to secure more competitive pricing and improve efficiency.
The Mandarin signing was attended by Robert Po, chairman; Lily Po, managing director; and property engineers Genaro Cercado Jr. and Godfrey Sebur.
Representing La Carmela de Boracay were Mary Love Apelado-Ojoy, general manager; Jonabel Taglay, resort manager; and HR officers Jessa Mae Paredes and Jeremy Fernandez.
PrimeRES was represented at both events by Daniel Arago, chief operating officer; Rolly Bolledo, commercial head; Keon Carlo Laurente, sales manager; and David Cabrera, head of customer relations for Boracay.
The deals build on the company’s earlier milestones under the program.
In February 2025, PrimeRES completed the first Retail Aggregation Program switch in the Philippines with Manila Water in Luzon.
In May 2025, it executed the first such switch in the Visayas with the Boracay Island Water Company.
PrimeRES said the latest partnerships reinforce its position as a provider for complex, multi-facility energy solutions in the hospitality and utility sectors.
