ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A pregnant woman died while two others were injured after three tricycles collided Thursday afternoon at Barangay Sta. Fe, Pilar, Capiz.
Police identified the victim as Maria Belen Balasa, 36, of Brgy. Tanza, Estancia, Iloilo. She was six months pregnant.
Two tricycle drivers identified as Dennis Ryan Decon of Enseñagan, Panit-an, Capiz and Elmer Tabuado of Pilar town suffered injuries in different parts of their bodies and are presently confined in hospitals.
Police investigation indicated that Balasa and his live-in partner identified as Gino Ignacio were riding a tricycle when the driver lost control and accidentally hit Decon’s tricycle.
Unfortunately, another tricycle emerged from the opposite direction and crashed into Balasa’s vehicle.
