Alias Angie, 18, who is six months pregnant and a resident of Barangay Tabuc Sur, Panitan, Capiz, and alias Dustin, 22, of Barangay Cogon, Panay, Capiz, were apprehended during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Banica, Roxas City, around 4:10 a.m. Tuesday.
Members of the Capiz Police Provincial Office – Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (CPPO-PDEU) arrested the couple after they sold a sachet of suspected shabu for PHP 5,500.
Following the arrest, police confiscated 19 additional sachets of suspected shabu along with several non-drug items.
Colonel Albert Tapulao, Capiz police chief, said the seized drugs weighed approximately 75 grams, with a standard drug price of PHP 510,000.
Tapulao identified Dustin as a high-value individual on their priority target list.
The couple was recently identified as drug personalities during an intelligence build-up.
Tapulao added that the suspects allegedly sourced their drug supply from outside Western Visayas.
The two suspects are now in police custody and will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
