ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Police on Monday charged two poultry helpers who were arrested for indiscriminate gun firing Saturday evening at Brgy. Bungsuan, Dumarao, Capiz.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 or Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act were filed on Monday before the Provincial Prosecutors Office against Art Piral, 29, and Andy Garcia, 19, both of said place.
It was learned that the suspects were drunk when they allegedly fired unlicensed guns.
Investigation by Dumarao police indicated that a concerned citizen informed them about the incident to which they immediately responded.
The two were arrested in a hot pursuit operation while riding a motorcycle at Brgy. Dacuton, Dumarao.
Recovered from the possession of Piral were:
-a cal. 45 Taurus Pistol
-a live ammunition of cal. 45 pistol (chamber loaded)
-2 magazines of a cal. 45 pistol
-13 live cal. 45 ammunitions
-a firearm of still unidentified caliber
-a Yamaha Mio motorcycle
The two were taken to Senator Gerardo M. Roxas Memorial District Hospital in Dao, Capiz for medical and physical examination.
They are presently in the custody of Dumarao MPS.
