BACOLOD City – The Himamaylan City Police Station in Negros Occidental is investigating if a recent fatal shooting incident in the city was connected to the killing of a man suspected to have drug links.
Last Friday, Robert John Aujero, 25, of Barangay Aguisan was gunned down by two unidentified men on a motorcycle in the said village.
Investigation indicated that Aujero was at his stall selling popcorn beside the market when one of the perpetrators shot him three times.
The victim suffered gunshot wounds in the face and head. He was rushed to a hospital where he was declared dead.

The gunman fled with his motorcycle driver-companion.
Police recovered from the scene three fired cartridges of .45-caliber ammunition.
Lieutenant Alfred Mansoy, deputy police chief of Himamaylan City Police Station, said the incident might be drug-related as Aujero was allegedly part of a drug group.
Mansoy said they are still validating the reports.
The crime might also be an offshoot of a love triangle.
On October 20, a drug surrenderer was also killed at Barangay 4 here.
