Six persons were arrested in simultaneous illegal gambling operations afternoon of June 26, 2021 in Batad, Iloilo.
Lieutenant Ma. Rosela Buenvenida, Batad police chief, said the six persons were playing pool and tong-its at Sitio Pajo in Barangay Binon-an.
The tong-its players nabbed around 2 p.m. of Saturday were Bernie Erenea, 44; Julio Hayahay Jr., 48; and Romil Biclar, 41. All are residents of the said place.
Seized from them were a set of playing cards and P152 cash bet.
Thirty minutes later, police collared another group who were playing pool, a cue sports played on a table with six pockets along the rails into which chips or balls are deposited.
Arrested were Aijun Sangrines, 19, and Jovan Gumawa, 20, both residents of Sitio Pajo in Barangay Binon-an; and Armie Jhon Mendez, 28, a resident of Barangay Tanao, Batad.
Police seized P340 bet money; four cue sticks, 12 pool chips, one pool table, and a cue chip.
The suspects are now detained and would be charge for violation of Presidential Decree 1602 (Providing Stiffer Penalties on Illegal Gambling).
