BACOLOD City – A tragic incident claimed the life of a policeman after he lost control of his motorcycle at Hacienda Reboton, Barangay Tinampa-an, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, last Friday.
The casualty was identified as Police Staff Sergeant Ronnie Gamboa, 35, a resident of the same barangay. He served at the Sagay City Police Station.
Police Lieutenant Colonel John Joel Batusbatusan, the city police chief, reported that the accident occurred around 8:30 p.m. as Gamboa was returning home after his duty. He encountered difficulties in maneuvering his motorcycle on an uphill and curving section of the road.
Batusbatusan noted that the victim was likely speeding and consequently failed to manage the motorcycle’s path, leading to his fatal tumble.
Gamboa sustained severe head injuries and was pronounced dead, according to the police chief.
