A knife-wielding man was injured after he was shot by a police officer in Laua-an, Antique Friday morning.
Roland Tecyo, a resident of Barangay Guiamon, Laua-an, was wounded on his left leg.
According to reports, members of Laua-an Police Station responded to a call for assistance after an armed man was creating alarm and scandal at Barangay Poblacion around 10:10 a.m. Friday.
Members of Laua-an Police Station led Executive Master Sergeant Ricky Encina tried to arrest the suspect who was armed with two knives.
But Tecyo allegedly resisted and attempted to stab Encina, prompting the latter to shoot him.
Tecyo was taken to the hospital after the incident.
