BACOLOD City – The Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU) and Police Station 2 here seized an estimated P900,000 worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust at Barangay 6 here last Tuesday.
The police operatives raided the house of 39-year-old Joel Beate around 2 p.m.
Police recovered from him seven sachets of suspected shabu weighing 100 grams, and the P500 marked money.
Police Captain Leo Estopa, head of Police Station 2, said Beate can be considered a high value target because of the big volume of drugs recovered from him which is more than 50 grams.
“He is unemployed but he was able to distribute big volume of drugs not just in one village but other barangays here as well and even probably outside Bacolod,” Estopa said.
Estopa said Beate is also on the drugs watch list of the police station.
He added that they are validating reports that the suspect is probably getting his supply of illegal drugs from a drug group.
Beate, who is detained at Police Station 2, will be charged for sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs.
