An anti-illegal drugs operation by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 and Iloilo City Police Station 3 yielded approximately 80 grams of suspected shabu valued at Php544,000 from four suspected drug peddlers on the evening of May 22, 2024, at Barangay Lanit, Jaro, Iloilo City.
The suspects, identified by their aliases as Elfred and Nina (both high-value individuals), and Francis and John (street-level individuals), are now in police custody.
Police Regional Office 6 Director Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky lauded the operating personnel for their noteworthy accomplishment.
“This achievement is a testament to your unwavering commitment and sacrifice in our fight against the menace of illegal drugs. Keep up the good work. Let this accomplishment serve as your inspiration in relentlessly pursuing our aim to cleanse our community of this problem,” he said.
The suspects will be charged with violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
