Two high-value individuals (HVIs) were arrested and around 200 grams of suspected shabu were seized in a buy-bust operation conducted on September 2, 2025, in Molo, Iloilo City.
The Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 (RPDEU6) led the joint operation alongside Iloilo City Police Station 4, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Group–Special Operations Unit, the Iloilo City Police Office, and the Regional Intelligence Division 6.
The suspects, identified as alias “Toting,” 42, male, and alias “Nene,” 17, female, are both residents of Brgy. Rizal Estanzuela, Iloilo City, and are classified as HVIs.
Authorities said the operation took place at approximately 7:50 p.m. in Zone 6, Brgy. Boulevard, Molo, and resulted in the confiscation of 10 sachets of suspected shabu.
Police also recovered buy-bust money and various non-drug items during the arrest.
The estimated value of the seized drugs is PHP 1,360,000 based on prevailing Dangerous Drugs Board estimates.
Police Regional Office 6 Regional Director PBGEN Jose Dino Ligan praised the successful coordination of the teams involved in the operation.
“This accomplishment demonstrates our strong resolve to eradicate illegal drugs in Western Visayas,” said Ligan.
“PRO6 remains steadfast in its mission to pursue high-value targets and ensure that they are held accountable under the law,” he added.
“We urge the public to remain vigilant and work with us in creating a safer, drug-free community,” Ligan said.
Charges are being prepared against the suspects for violating Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Both charges are non-bailable and carry penalties of life imprisonment and a fine ranging from PHP 500,000 to PHP 10 million.
