BACOLOD CITY — Police have filed a complaint for rape with homicide against two people linked to the killing of 17-year-old Freya Mae Go in October last year, the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region said.
The complaint was filed before the City Prosecutor’s Office on May 29 against alias “Jac” and alias “Bry,” both residents of Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City.
Go was found dead in a vacant lot in the reclamation area of Barangay 12 on Oct. 22, 2025, after her on-the-job training at a construction firm.
PRO-NIR said investigators pursued leads, gathered evidence, conducted case buildup operations, and worked closely with prosecutors before filing the complaint.
Police said the sustained investigation brought the case closer to judicial resolution.
Brig. Gen. Romano Cardiño, PRO-NIR director, commended the investigators and police personnel involved for their dedication, professionalism, and perseverance.
“This ensures that perpetrators of heinous crimes are held accountable,” Cardiño said.
Cardiño said the development reflected the police’s commitment to seek justice for victims and their families.
He said authorities would continue to ensure that no stone is left unturned in the pursuit of truth and accountability.
The city government earlier offered a PHP 100,000 reward for anyone who could provide credible information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for Go’s death.
Authorities earlier formed a special task force to intensify the investigation into Go’s killing, which drew public concern in Bacolod City.
A separate report on the filing of charges identified the victim as Freya Mae Go and said the complaint stemmed from the continuing investigation into her death.
