Police chief suspended for 30 days

BACOLOD City – A police chief in Negros Occidental was suspended for a month because of an administrative offense.

Police Colonel Romeo Baleros, director of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo), said Police Lieutenant Colonel Eduardo Corpuz, chief of Victorias City Police Station was relieved from his post last week as they implemented the suspension order in relation to his administrative case in 2015.

Baleros said Corpuz’s case is not because of an unlawful act but “it is in relation to his service in the police organization.”

Corpuz was replaced by Police Lieutenant Colonel Mary Rose Pico, who was formerly assigned as head of the Human Resource Office at Nocppo headquarters here.

He was moved to the office of the provincial director while waiting for a recommendation from Police Regional Office (PRO) – 6 if he can still return to his previous post.
