BACOLOD City – As the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) hands out cash grants and social amelioration benefits, beneficiaries start to flock banks’ cash dispensing machines all over the province.
Thus, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) beefed up security in banks by assigning PNP personnel, particularly to Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) branches as well as other banks.
A news release from NOCPPO Information Office said this effort is to deter lawless elements from taking advantage of the situation among beneficiaries.
Police personnel also ensured that beneficiaries observe COVID-19 preventive measures of social distancing in anticipation of gathering of these beneficiaries.
Negros Occidental is on an extended Enhanced Community Quarantine until April 30. (PIA)
