Bacolod City – The bid to further improve the peace and order situation in La Castellana, Negros Occidental got a needed shot in the arm from the PNP national command.
Mayor Rhumyla Nicor-Mangilimutan said the Municipal Government of La Castellana is one of the recipient-local government units (LGUs) of a new police mobile from the PNP.
The mayor received the patrol car from Police Regional Office (PRO) – Region 6 director Brigadier General Rolando Miranda in Iloilo City early this week.
It will surely help boost the peace and order in the southern Negros Occidental locality, she said.
The mayor revealed that the municipal government also purchased one brand new patrol car, aside from the old one that was fully repaired and reconditioned.
“We also added two more units of motorcycle for the police station’s warrant and intelligence section for effective and efficient delivery of public service,” Nicor-Mangilimutan said, adding that “this will further strengthen our efforts to maintain peace and order within my jurisdiction.”
In terms of support, the PNP is also constructing a sub-station in Barangay Cabacungan of the said town.
Other assistance include the repair of kitchen and mess hall, personnel’s quarter and detention facilities, and installation of air-conditioning units at the main police station.
Nicor-Mangilimutan said peace and order has been one of the top priorities of the local government under her administration.
“If a locality is peaceful, the development and progress would be fast tracked,” she added.
