Hercor College and the XYZ/TOTO-TIA-TEN squad grab vital wins in the ongoing 1st Mayor Stephen Palmares Pintados de Passi Open Invitational basketball tournament.
The young guns from Roxas City, the Hercor Jaguars, handed team PNP a demolition course with their 95-59 victory.
Coach Jay Pisueña’s fluid basketball sets were on full display as they picked the PNP defense apart the whole four quarters, dominating them at both ends of the floor.
The Jaguars then pressed their advantage as the second half started to suffocate PNP with their smothering defense en route to a convincing win.
John Hermogimo torched the PNP squad after chalking up an impressive 21-point performance with 2 rebounds and 1 steal.
The next game was a much-needed victory for team XYZ/TOTO-TIA-TEN after trouncing Ogtonganons, 74-62.
Coach John Guanco pulled-off the needed plays to break Ogtonganon’s momentum-grabbing scoring runs to seal the victory.
Irele Galas became an unstoppable force underneath for team XYZ after contributing 15 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocks.
