A pilot accused of rape was arrested on the evening of October 29 in San Jose, Antique.
The suspect, identified only by the alias Lan, 46, is a resident of Barangay 3, San Jose.
He was apprehended while in Barangay 8 by operatives of the San Jose Municipal Police Station.
The arrest was made by virtue of a warrant for the crime of rape by carnal knowledge under Republic Act No. 8353, or the Anti-Rape Law of 1997.
No bail was recommended for his temporary release.
Master Sergeant Mark Iris Moreno, assistant investigator of the San Jose PNP, said the alleged rape occurred in 2021.
The arrest warrant was issued on August 11, 2024.
Moreno confirmed that the complainant is of legal age but did not provide further details.
The suspect was immediately turned over to a Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) facility following his arrest.
