BACOLOD CITY – Authorities seized an estimated PHP918,000 worth of suspected illegal drugs from three individuals in separate buy-bust operations in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental on Wednesday.
The largest seizure occurred in Pontevedra town, where 85 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP578,000 were recovered from a suspect known as “Turagsoy,” 48, in Barangay M.H. Del Pilar.
Police identified Turagsoy as a high-value individual, and the operation was conducted with the support of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit.
In another operation, police confiscated 51 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP340,000 from two suspects inside a rented house in Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City.
Apprehended were “Jeddah,” 28, of Cauayan town, and his companion “Rom,” 30, of Barangay Singcang-Airport.
Police Capt. Greeky Cayao, head of Police Station 8, said Jeddah had been reported for allegedly engaging in illegal drug activities on and off in the area.
Cayao said authorities have already gathered information on the source of the drugs but declined to disclose details pending further investigation.
He added that Rom, reportedly Jeddah’s wife’s second cousin, was also allegedly caught in possession of the drugs during the operation.
