PHP300,000 lost in Panitan robbery

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — About PHP300,000 in cash and valuables were reported stolen after five suspects broke into a house early Saturday, Aug. 2, in Barangay Consencia, Panitan, Capiz.
Alias Ar-ar discovered that the main door’s doorknob had been destroyed when they arrived that morning.
He said the belongings inside the house, owned by Arnel Diestro, 53, were in disarray.
Diestro and his family were in Iloilo when the robbery occurred.
They later found PHP70,000 in cash and PHP273,000 worth of valuables missing.
The stolen items included gadgets worth PHP80,000, assorted jewelry worth PHP150,000, and shoes worth PHP7,000.
CCTV footage showed five individuals entering the residence, and one of them was identified as alias CJ.
Police are conducting a hot pursuit operation as the investigation continues.
