ROXAS CITY, Capiz – An estimated PHP200,000 worth of properties went up in smoke after a fire razed a house Thursday morning at Sitio Hansol, Barangay Lawaan in Dumarao, Capiz.
No one was hurt in the blaze that gobbled the house of Rebecca Dampog, 71.
FO3 Joseph Buriel, Arson Investigator of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Dumarao, said the fire originated from one of the rooms in the house.
A cellular phone that was being charged was believed to have triggered the fire.
Several neighbors responded and tried to quell the fire before fire fighters arrived.
