Hundreds of drug suspects were arrested in Western Visayas during anti-narcotics operations conducted over the first half of 2025.
From Jan. 1 to June 30, the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) conducted 633 operations that led to the seizure of 24.551 kilograms of suspected shabu and 17.315 kilograms of marijuana.
The confiscated shabu was valued at PHP166.949 million, while the marijuana was estimated at PHP2.078 million.
A total of 803 individuals were arrested, including 237 high-value targets, 546 street-level suspects and 20 others not categorized under the two groups.
The Iloilo City Police Office led the region with the largest haul, seizing PHP71.4 million worth of illegal drugs.
The Iloilo Police Provincial Office followed with PHP63.5 million in seized narcotics.
The Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit also contributed significantly, confiscating PHP21.6 million worth of illegal drugs.
Brig. Gen. Josefino Ligan, PRO-6 regional director, said the numbers reflect the unwavering dedication of police personnel in the region’s anti-drug campaign.
“Continue building strong relationships with the public and enhancing our collaboration with various government agencies and stakeholders,” Ligan told operatives.
“With their support, we can identify those engaged in these unlawful activities and hold them accountable,” he added.
Ligan also assured the public of PRO-6’s relentless campaign against the drug menace.
