Three high-value drug suspects were arrested during an anti-narcotics operation on the evening of July 13 in La Paz, Iloilo City.
Police identified the suspects only as alias “Jessie,” 56, and alias “Rene,” 48, both of Barangay McArthur, La Paz; and alias “Jeffrey,” 39, of Barangay Baybay Norte, Miagao.
The suspects were apprehended by members of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6, along with personnel from the PNP Drug Enforcement Group and Iloilo City Police Station 2, after allegedly selling a sachet of suspected shabu worth PHP13,000.
Following their arrest, authorities recovered three knot-tied plastic bags, two more sachets of suspected shabu, PHP700 in cash, three mobile phones, and other drug-related items.
Capt. Glenn Soliman, RPDEU-6 team leader, said the seized drugs weighed about 150 grams with an estimated street value of PHP1,020,000.
The suspects are now detained and will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
