Three individuals were arrested in separate anti-drug operations in Iloilo province on April 8.
Arrested were alias Virgilio, 35, of Barangay Batuan, Pototan; alias Daryl, 25, a resident of Barangay Lupa, Santa Barbara, temporarily residing in Barangay Rumbang, Pototan; and alias Moymoy, 27, of Sulbod, Zone 5, Santa Barbara.
Officers from the Pototan Municipal Police Station apprehended Virgilio around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in his residence in Batuan.
He was caught selling a sachet of suspected shabu worth PHP2,600.
Police later recovered 10 more sachets of suspected shabu and several non-drug items.
The confiscated drugs weighed approximately 100 grams with an estimated street value of PHP680,000.
Virgilio’s arrest came after a two-week surveillance operation.
He claimed he turned to drug selling due to financial hardship.
Meanwhile, Daryl and Moymoy were arrested in a buy-bust operation at Barangay Lapayon, Leganes, around 8:05 p.m. the same day.
The operation was carried out by the Iloilo Police Provincial Office Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit Team 1, in coordination with the Leganes Municipal Police Station, IPPO-PDEU Team 2, and the IPPO Provincial Intelligence Unit.
The two suspects sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur-buyer.
Upon frisking, officers found three knot-tied plastic packs, three more sachets of suspected shabu, and several non-drug items.
Major Dadje Delima, chief of the IPPO-PDEU, said the seized drugs weighed around 120 grams with a value of PHP816,000.
Daryl was reportedly the primary target of the operation.
Authorities said a previous attempt to arrest the suspects in November 2024 failed when they declined the drug transaction.
Reports indicate the duo was operating in the second and third districts of Iloilo province and parts of Iloilo City.
All three suspects are in police custody and will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
