BACOLOD CITY – Police seized an estimated PHP1,230,800 worth of suspected illegal drugs from four individuals in separate buy-bust operations in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental on May 2 and 3.
The largest drug haul occurred in Kabankalan City on May 3, where a 35-year-old man identified as alias “Raffy” was arrested in a pension house in Barangay 9.
Police confiscated from him 75 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP510,000.
Police Capt. Sammy Gasataya, deputy chief of the Kabankalan City Police Station, said the suspect is classified as a high-value individual.
He also allegedly yielded a .45-caliber pistol with a magazine loaded with eight live rounds.
Authorities also recovered an improvised glass tooter, straw scoop, digital weighing scale, PHP3,000 in marked money, and PHP1,500 in cash.
In Moises Padilla town on the same day, a 29-year-old laborer from La Castellana was arrested in Barangay Magallon Cadre.
Police seized 30 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP204,000 from the suspect.
Also on May 3, a 34-year-old man identified as alias “Toto” was arrested in Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City.
Police confiscated 60 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP408,000.
Police Lt. Richard Legada, assistant chief of the City Drug Enforcement Unit, said Toto was under surveillance for four weeks following a community tip about his alleged illegal drug activity.
He is currently detained at Police Station 8.
On May 2, a 19-year-old man was arrested in Barangay 13, Victorias City.
Police seized 15 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP108,800 from the suspect.
