PHP1.1-M Shabu Seized in Bacolod Buy-Bust Operation

BACOLOD CITY – A 29-year-old man was arrested in a buy-bust operation that led to the seizure of PHP1.16 million worth of suspected shabu early Thursday in Purok Sigay, Barangay 2.

The suspect, identified only by his aliases “Emil” or “Yen-yen,” is a resident of Barangay 6 and has been classified as a high-value individual.

Police operatives from the City Drug Enforcement Unit confiscated approximately 170 grams of suspected shabu from the suspect.

The latest operation comes on the heels of recent seizures totaling PHP32.9 million worth of illegal drugs in the city.

The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) said the successful operation reflects its intensified campaign against illegal drugs.

The BCPO has been recognized for its sustained efforts, with some officers receiving commendations for outstanding leadership and accomplishments in the anti-drug campaign.

Police Col. Joeresty Coronica, BCPO director, praised the operatives for their dedication and hard work.

He said the recognition reflects BCPO’s continued commitment to upholding the law and protecting communities from the threat of illegal drugs.

Coronica added that recent anti-drug operations have saved potential victims and prevented the spread of illegal substances in the city.
