BACOLOD CITY – Police seized PHP 2,699,600 worth of suspected shabu in five anti-illegal drug operations conducted here and in two Negros Occidental localities over the weekend, resulting in the arrest of six individuals.
The City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) achieved the largest drug haul, confiscating PHP 1,611,600 worth of suspected shabu in two buy-bust operations in Bacolod City on Saturday.
In the first operation, a 22-year-old suspect known as “Toto” from Barangay Taculing was arrested after allegedly yielding 157 grams of shabu valued at PHP 1,067,600.
A second operation in Barangay 39 led to the apprehension of a 35-year-old suspect known as “Bebe” and the seizure of 80 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP 544,000.
On Sunday, two suspects, “George,” 25, of Barangay Punta Taytay, and “Roda,” 43, of Barangay 2, were arrested in a drug bust in Barangay Singcang-Airport. Authorities confiscated 55 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP 374,000. Both suspects are currently detained at Police Station 8.
In Hinigaran town, Negros Occidental, police arrested a 34-year-old tricycle driver known as “Bimboy” during a raid in Barangay Gargato on Saturday.
Authorities applied for a search warrant against the suspect for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, which was issued by a vice executive judge of the Regional Trial Court in Himamaylan City on February 28, 2025.
Recovered during the raid were 45 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP 306,000, a homemade 12-gauge pistol, and one round of live ammunition for the firearm.
On Sunday, another suspect, “Tyson,” 26, of Barangay 13, Victorias City, was arrested in a buy-bust operation that resulted in the confiscation of 60 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP 408,000.
