An ex-convict and his associate were arrested in a police anti-narcotics operation on the evening of October 15 in Pototan, Iloilo.
Glenn Garcia, 40, of Barangay Zarrague, Pototan, was apprehended alongside his alleged runner and neighbor, 28-year-old Bobby Tibon.
Members of the Pototan Municipal Police Station arrested the two in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Malusgod, where they allegedly conspired to sell a sachet of suspected shabu for PHP 10,500.
Upon frisking, police recovered five more sachets of suspected shabu, a .22-caliber revolver with five rounds of ammunition, other non-drug paraphernalia, and PHP 205 in cash.
Major Rolando Araño, spokesperson for the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO), said the seized drugs weighed around 150 grams, with an estimated street value of PHP 1,020,000.
It was revealed that Garcia had a prior drug-related arrest and was released from incarceration in December 2023.
Police arrested the suspects following a three-month surveillance operation.
They allegedly sourced their drug supply from Metro Manila.
The suspects are currently detained and will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
