PHP 1.078 million in shabu seized, three arrested

BACOLOD CITY — Three people were arrested and suspected shabu worth a total of PHP 1,078,480 was seized in two buy-bust operations in Negros Island on Monday.
In Negros Oriental, a 42-year-old man tagged by police as a high-value individual was arrested with 108.6 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP 738,480 in Barangay Balugo, Valencia.
The suspect was identified only as alias “Dondon” of Dumaguete City following intelligence reports that he was allegedly involved in the distribution of illegal drugs in Dumaguete City and the municipalities of Bacong, Sibulan, and Valencia.
According to the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region, the suspect allegedly received illegal drugs from a source through a drop-off arrangement and subsequently distributed them to clients in nearby municipalities.
In Negros Occidental, two men were arrested after allegedly yielding suspected shabu worth PHP 340,000 in Barangay Antipolo, Pontevedra.
The suspects were identified only as aliases “Jazper,” 27, and “Paul,” 38, both residents of the village.
Police said Jazper yielded 30 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP 204,000, while Paul allegedly had 20 grams worth PHP 136,000.
In a statement, Police Brig. Gen. Rudecindo Reales, PRO-NIR director, said crime prevention requires proactive action and strong community partnerships.
He said every operation that keeps illegal drugs out of communities is a step toward keeping people safe.
PRO-NIR encouraged the public to remain vigilant and report information on illegal drug activities to the nearest police station or through established hotlines.
