The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) has warned the public against responding to fake messages sent by scammers impersonating PHLPost and other delivery services.
The fraudulent messages use PHLPost’s name and logo and often contain links to fake websites.
PHLPost clarified that it does not send messages via text, email, or online stating that a mail or parcel was undelivered due to a wrong address.
The scam messages typically ask recipients to update their address and pay PHP17.05 through a fake website that is not owned or affiliated with PHLPost.
Postmaster General Luis D. Carlos urged the public to ignore such messages and avoid engaging in any transactions that may compromise sensitive personal or financial data.
“These scammers pretend to be a legitimate company or individual sending SMS, online messages, or calls,” Carlos said.
“We warn the public not to respond to any messages or specific instructions and to avoid clicking any link that may eventually harm their confidential data,” he added.
Scammers often use fear tactics to pressure individuals into clicking malicious links included in the messages.
PHLPost emphasized that neither the agency nor its personnel will send threats, scare tactics, or solicit payments via text, email, or messages.
The public is strongly advised not to respond, click any links, or call phone numbers provided in suspicious messages.
Anyone expecting mail or parcels should contact PHLPost’s customer service hotline at (02) 8288-7678.
Inquiries may also be directed to phlpostcares@phlpost.gov.ph or through the official website at www.phlpost.gov.ph.
