PHLPost warns: don’t tap fake parcel delivery links
MANILA — The Philippine Postal Corp., known as PHLPost, warned the public against fraudulent text messages, or “smishing,” that misuse the agency’s name and identity to steal personal and sensitive financial information.
Smishing is a form of phishing that uses text messages to trick recipients into disclosing information or visiting fraudulent websites.
PHLPost said scammers typically send messages claiming a parcel cannot be delivered because of an incomplete address.
Other messages demand the immediate payment of a “redelivery fee” using a credit or debit card.
PHLPost stressed that the messages do not come from the postal service.
The agency said it does not request bank account details, card information, passwords or one-time passwords through text messages.
The public should not click suspicious links, disclose personal or banking information, or make payments through unverified websites.
Recipients should confirm a message’s source and authenticity before responding or taking other action.
The agency issued a similar warning in May 2025 about scammers using the names and logos of PHLPost and other delivery services to direct recipients to fraudulent websites.
Customers can verify and track parcels through PHLPost’s official website and authorized communication channels.
Those seeking assistance or reporting suspicious messages may contact PHLPost Customer Service at (02) 8288-7678 or (02) 8288-POST.
Reports may also be emailed to phlpostcares@phlpost.gov.ph or the PHLPost Inspectorate Department at isd@phlpost.gov.ph.
PHLPost urged the public to remain vigilant when receiving text messages, social media posts, emails and other online communications.
