The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) has released a special commemorative stamp honoring His Holiness Pope Francis.
This new release celebrates the pope’s enduring legacy of faith, compassion and service to humanity.
The stamp is presented in a se-tenant format, consisting of a connected pair with unique designs.
One design highlights Pope Francis’ spiritual humility, while the other reflects his advocacy for peace, social justice and environmental stewardship.
The format symbolizes the dual aspects of his papal mission and his global humanitarian influence.
A total of 20,000 copies of the commemorative stamp have been printed.

In addition, 1,000 Official First Day Covers (FDCs) have been released, featuring the stamp and a cancellation postmark dated with the official release.
These limited-edition items are especially prized by collectors and philatelic enthusiasts.
Postmaster General and CEO Luis D. Carlos said, “Through this stamp, we are sending a message of unity, love and faith that transcends borders. It is our humble way of honoring a global religious figure who has touched countless lives, including millions of Filipinos.”
PHLPost has previously issued several stamps honoring Pope Francis.
These include a 2015 commemorative stamp marking his historic apostolic visit to the Philippines, which featured a memorable and emotional stop in Tacloban City to show solidarity with Typhoon Yolanda survivors.
In 2014, PHLPost released a stamp to mark the first anniversary of his papacy, celebrating his early messages of mercy and inclusion.
PHLPost maintains a long philatelic tradition of commemorating significant individuals and historic milestones.
Over the years, stamps have marked papal visits, canonizations and key moments in Catholic and world history.
The Pope Francis stamp joins this distinguished collection.
Officials emphasized that the release aligns with PHLPost’s mission to use philately as a tool for education, heritage preservation and cultural expression.
Stamps such as these serve as tributes and reminders of shared values, connecting Filipinos to a broader global narrative.
The commemorative stamps and First Day Covers are now available for purchase at the Manila Central Post Office.
PHLPost invites the public and collectors to acquire these special editions, which honor a living symbol of humility, faith and service to others.
Pope Francis, elected on March 13, 2013, served as the 266th leader of the Roman Catholic Church and head of state of the Vatican City until his death on April 21, 2025.
His papacy was marked by humility, social justice and global outreach.
