The Philippine Postal Corp., the Department of Trade and Industry Provincial Office of Guimaras, and the Guimaras Mango Growers and Producers’ Development Cooperative signed a memorandum of agreement on May 20, 2026, at the DTI Guimaras Provincial Office in San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras, to expand market opportunities for the province’s world-renowned mangoes.
The agreement builds on the partnership launched in 2025 under the “ManGOES to the Metro” initiative, which improved market access for Guimaras mango growers through better shipment coordination, more efficient logistics, and streamlined distribution.
Under the updated agreement, market coverage will extend beyond Metro Manila to include Metro Cebu, broadening consumer access and creating new opportunities for Guimaras mango farmers and producers.
The expanded partnership is expected to strengthen the province’s mango value chain by providing affordable, reliable, and efficient logistics and delivery services through PHLPost.
Consumers in Metro Manila and Metro Cebu will gain greater access to authentic Guimaras mangoes bearing the Geographical Indication Seal, a mark of quality and origin that highlights the province’s reputation for producing some of the finest mangoes in the world.
The signing coincides with the province’s celebration of the Manggahan Festival 2026, scheduled from May 15 to 24.
The annual festival promotes Guimaras’ agricultural excellence, particularly its globally recognized mango industry, while helping connect local producers to wider domestic markets.
The memorandum of agreement was signed by authorized representatives of the partner organizations: Atty. Benjie S. Yotoko of PHLPost, Ramy E. Pudadera of the Guimaras Mango Growers and Producers’ Development Cooperative, and Juvy D. Benliro of DTI Guimaras.
The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to empowering rural producers, strengthening local agribusiness, and building a more inclusive and resilient logistics ecosystem.
The initiative is aligned with the leadership and vision of the DTI Supply Chain and Logistics Group, headed by Undersecretary Mary Jean Pacheco.
Through the strengthened partnership, PHLPost, DTI Guimaras, and the Guimaras Mango Growers and Producers’ Development Cooperative reaffirmed their commitment to supporting farmers and cooperatives, advancing micro, small, and medium enterprise development, and bringing premium Guimaras products to a broader Philippine market.
