Philippine Airlines (PAL) has launched a new interline partnership with Southwest Airlines Co., enabling travelers to book seamless, single-ticket journeys between destinations across the Philippines and the United States.
The collaboration allows PAL customers to access Southwest’s vast domestic U.S. network through key gateway airports in Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO), Seattle/Tacoma (SEA), and Honolulu (HNL).
Flights under the interline agreement are now available for booking via Philippine Airlines and major third-party travel platforms.
“Our interline partnership with Southwest Airlines enables seamless connections and single-ticket journeys across both of our networks,” said Christoph Gaertner, PAL Vice President – Revenue Management.
“As we continue to expand PAL’s global reach, this collaboration provides more travel options and greater flexibility, giving our guests access to a wider range of destinations in the United States,” he added.
Southwest, which operates nearly 90 daily flights serving Hawaii and is California’s largest air carrier, said the partnership will give more travelers convenient options to start or end their journeys with them.
“Each airline partnership brings unique and incremental reach to places around the globe for both carriers and gives more consumers an opportunity to begin or end their journey with Southwest,” said Andrew Watterson, Chief Operating Officer.
The agreement enhances access to PAL’s network across Asia, Australia, the Middle East, and the Philippines by integrating with Southwest’s domestic U.S. service.
The partnership responds to growing travel demand between the Philippines and the United States, a major market for both tourism and overseas Filipino travelers.
Founded in 1941, Philippine Airlines is the country’s flag carrier and only full-service network airline, offering direct international and domestic flights from its hubs in Manila, Cebu, Clark, and Davao.
PAL currently flies to 31 destinations in the Philippines and 38 international destinations using a mixed fleet of Boeing, Airbus, and De Havilland aircraft.
Southwest Airlines, launched in 1971, is the largest U.S. domestic carrier by passenger volume and operates at 117 airports across 11 countries with over 72,000 employees.
The partnership is expected to boost tourism, streamline travel planning, and increase connectivity for both leisure and business travelers navigating transpacific routes.
