In the face of adversity and challenges brought by pandemic, the Philippine Army’s 3rd Infantry Division vowed to continue its conformity to the principle and provisions of the International Humanitarian Law (IHL).
Officers, enlisted personnel, and civilian human resources (CHRs) of the 3rd ID affirmed their commitment and support in the adherence to the principle and provisions of the International Humanitarian Law (IHL) during the kick-off ceremony of the IHL Month celebration on Aug. 1, 2022.
This year’s IHL Month adopted the theme: “Upholding IHL as We Recover from the Pandemic: Bayanihan to Reduce the Suffering in Armed Conflict Towards Advancing the Gains of Peace and Reconciliation.”
In a statement, Major General Benedict Arevalo, 3rd ID commander, assured that “the men and women of the 3rd Infantry Division will continue to recognize, respect, defend and fulfill the dignity and rights of every person to include those who are not or no longer participating in an armed conflict.”
“We will ensure that we will continue to be loved by the people and be feared by the enemy,” Arevalo said.
