Choco Mucho Flying Titans’ star and middle blocker Maddie Madayag had to exit the Premier Volleyball League battle for third series against the Petro Gazz Angels in a wheelchair, crying.
After hitting a spike off a Deanna Wong set, Madayag landed badly off one leg and injured her knee as she grabbed it immediately.
Madayag wasn’t able to stand and move after her bad fall and had to be assisted by her team to a wheelchair.
Reports indicated that the towering middle presence for the Flying Titans was immediately rushed to a hospital but the final results of her injury is yet to be determined.
Madayag hurt her knee in the fourth set of their battle for third clash against Petro Gazz and was playing tremendous defense before she exited the game.
Choco Mucho would end up losing the opening game without Madayag and will have to reshuffle their roster to fill in her position in the middle.
After the incident, several volleyball superstars offered support to Madayag and asked for everyone’s prayers.
Players like Carmela Tunay, Eya Laure, and Jamenea Ferrer took to social media their aftershock after the Madayag injury and called for the whole PH volleyball community to support the young star.
