Two of the Philippines’ lawn tennis superstars are currently putting up impressive wins in their respective international tournaments joined.
PH national tennis veterans Treat Huey and Ruben Gonzales are continuing their stellar runs as both are advancing to the next rounds.
Huey is currently seeing action in the ATP 250 Mifel Open event in Los Cabos, Mexico and is moving on to the tournament’s quarterfinal stage.
The PH team staple doubles’ star teamed up with USA’s Steve Johnson and dispatched the French power duo of Sadio Doumbia and Fabien Reboul in three grueling sets, 7-6, 6-7, 11-9.
Huey just came from an injury and had to face rehab and recovery for almost three months and immediately went to work after getting his clearance to play again.
Meanwhile, Gonzales also excelled in the doubles category of another ATP tournament, the Tampere Open in Finland.
The pairing of Gonzales and Hunter Johnson of the US also made gigantic leaps as they are now set for a semifinals berth in the tournament.
