PH Rugby submits modified format for resumption

The Philippine Rugby Football Union already submitted its proposal to the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Emerging Infectious Diseases regarding their plan of returning to action.

Despite getting unfavorable responses previously, the Rugby Union modified its plans in accordance with the safety health protocols the IATF and the national government.

“We will have our own ball, we won’t have any contact with each other, we won’t even pass Each phase of the progression is making sure we get all the different hygiene things in place, body temp, contact tracing, all that stuff,” said secretary-general Ada Milby.

Together with general manager Jake Letts, secretary-general Milby helped in the modification of their format which included practice protocols, specific number per area, and limited activities.

After rugby already resumed in several countries, the PH rugby union decided to act considering their 2021 SEA Games and 2022 Asian Games preparation.

“We might not be able to resume community rugby or club training immediately but if we can at least get our Volcanoes, men’s and women’s, back to training, then that helps a lot in the preparation for not only the 2021 SEA Games but also 2022 Asian Games,” Milby added.
