The veteran and ever-reliable Stephan Shrock just won the 2020 Philippines Football League (PFL) Most Valuable Player (MVP) award.
After leading the United City FC in the 2020 PFL bubble championship, there was no doubt that the leader of the team will emerge as the holder of the Golden Ball award.
It was his prowess and experience in the midfield that kick-started every United City FC attack and also became their source of strength during their tough stretch of games.
For Shrock, it can’t get any sweeter than winning the PFL MVP award and capping-off their season with the title despite the management and ownership change.
Staying intact with his former champion teammates with Ceres-Negros in Bienvenido Marañon and Manny Ott, Shrock felt they had something to prove this season after a roller-coaster September-October due to their ownership issues.
With a title concluding their season, the United City club will be granted an outright berth in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League as they will be set to represent the Philippines.
