Philippine Economic Zone Authority Director General Tereso O. Panga and key PEZA officers visited the proposed expansion site of Light Industry and Science Park IV in Batangas ahead of a two-week investment roadshow in Japan with Science Park of the Philippines Inc. and other partners.
The site has been identified for the PHP 10 billion investment project of Total Advanced Future Technology Pte. Ltd., which PEZA said is expected to generate about 3,000 direct jobs.
TAFT, a Singapore-based manufacturer of high-tech, climate-resilient housing solutions for the Japanese market, is the anchor locator of LISP IV.
The company is set to establish a PHP 3.6 billion state-of-the-art manufacturing facility inside LISP IV, with projected export revenues of about PHP 7.29 billion.
PEZA said the project is expected to strengthen the Philippines’ position as a strategic manufacturing hub for advanced building technologies and sustainable infrastructure solutions.
The visit also included a meeting with executives of SPPI and TAFT, highlighting PEZA and SPPI’s collaboration in attracting quality and strategic foreign direct investments into the country.
SPPI, one of the country’s leading industrial estate developers, is positioning LISP IV in Batangas as a premier destination for export-oriented companies.
LISP IV has been proclaimed a special economic zone, making investors and locators in the PEZA-accredited industrial park eligible for fiscal and non-fiscal incentives under Republic Act 7916, or the Special Economic Zone Act.
Batangas is part of CALABARZON, a region that remains attractive to manufacturers because of established infrastructure connectivity and logistics support.
The region is also positioned within the Luzon Economic Corridor, a United States-Japan-Philippines initiative announced in April 2024 to support connectivity among Subic Bay, Clark, Manila and Batangas.
The corridor is designed to support infrastructure, ports, clean energy, semiconductor supply chains and other investment priorities across Luzon.
PEZA said the corridor strengthens Luzon as a connected industrial corridor, even as investment interest has shifted northward in anticipation of the New Manila International Airport in Bulacan and heightened investor attention on the Clark Special Economic Zone linked to the “Pax Silica” initiative.
The New Manila International Airport project in Bulacan is expected to add major aviation and logistics capacity north of Metro Manila, with its passenger terminal targeted for completion in 2028, according to Airport Technology.
Reuters reported in April that the Philippines and the United States are pursuing an industrial hub in New Clark City to strengthen supply chain security in artificial intelligence, semiconductors and advanced manufacturing under the broader Pax Silica framework.
Science Park is also set to develop and register another industrial estate within New Clark City in collaboration with the Bases Conversion and Development Authority and PEZA.
The Philippine Information Agency reported that BCDA and SPPI are developing a 100-hectare industrial park in New Clark City, a project expected to create about 30,000 jobs in sectors including food production, textiles, automotive parts, electric vehicles, semiconductors and data centers.
PEZA and SPPI said their existing industrial estates in CALABARZON are ready to host export-oriented companies seeking traditional investment locations with established infrastructure and logistics systems.
Building on TAFT’s investment, PEZA and SPPI will conduct an investment roadshow across Japan from May 30 to June 11, 2026.
The mission will cover Fukuoka, Hamamatsu, Yokohama, Gunma, Nagano and Tokyo.
PEZA said the roadshow aims to strengthen Philippine-Japan investment partnerships and promote the Philippines as a competitive destination for advanced manufacturing and innovation-led industries.
