PEZA Director General Tereso O. Panga highlighted the importance of fostering partnerships with the private sector during the awarding ceremonies held at various ecozones across the country.
“As PEZA celebrates the achievements of these outstanding locator companies, it reaffirms its commitment to fostering a thriving business environment that drives economic growth, innovation, and sustainability in the Philippines,” Panga said.
Six companies were honored this December: Denso Ten Philippines Corporation, TDK Philippines Corporation, Qiagen Manila, Inc., International Wiring Systems (Phils.), Corp., Canon Business Machines (Philippines), Inc., and the Philippine Associated Smelting & Refining Corporation (PASAR).
The Outstanding Community Projects Award was presented to Denso Ten, TDK, and Qiagen Manila for their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
Their projects, ranging from education and health programs to environmental sustainability, demonstrate how businesses can uplift local communities while contributing to the broader economy.
For its exceptional export revenue performance, International Wiring Systems (Phils.), Corp. received the Outstanding Exporter Award, with over USD 300 million in exports in 2023 and more than PHP 3 billion in investments since registration.
PEZA elevated TDK Philippines Corporation and Canon Business Machines (Philippines), Inc. to its Hall of Fame for consistent excellence in export and environmental performance from 2021 to 2023.
TDK President Masatoshi Shindoh emphasized the collective efforts of employees in achieving environmental and community-focused goals.
“Our strategy in protecting various environmental initiatives and community groups is an act of charity, and I believe everyone understands the impact of our activities on the environment,” Shindoh said.
Canon President Masahiko Tsuji acknowledged the PEZA award as a reflection of their commitment to producing quality printers and supporting global trade.
“It is always an honor for our company to receive the different categories of PEZA Awards. This prestigious award is the product of our member’s best efforts,” Tsuji said.
PASAR, the country’s largest copper smelting and refining company, earned its third Billionaire’s Award for outstanding export performance, with USD 2.754 billion in exports in 2023.
General Manager of PASAR expressed gratitude, noting the long-standing partnership with PEZA since its registration in 1982.
“We will continue our best to contribute to the Philippine economy and support PEZA’s investment endeavors,” PASAR’s General Manager said.
PEZA’s awards this year celebrated 13 outstanding locator companies, with one more scheduled for recognition in January 2025.
Panga reaffirmed PEZA’s commitment to supporting its locators, advancing investment facilitation, and driving initiatives that benefit communities and the environment.
“We assure our locators of our full support in your endeavors geared towards propelling communities into greater heights,” Panga said.
