The Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office of Guimaras, led by Officer in Charge PENR Officer Louie Laud, provided an orientation on environmental and natural resources law to 57 members of the Provincial Law Enforcement and Public Safety Task Force.
The training was held on August 8, 2025, at Caza Guesthouse in San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras, and was organized by the Provincial Government of Guimaras through the Guimaras ENRO.
The lecture aimed to equip law enforcement personnel with a clearer understanding of both national and local environmental laws, ensuring more effective enforcement across the province.
PENR Officer Louie Laud highlighted key laws, including the Revised Forestry Code of the Philippines (Presidential Decree 705), the Chainsaw Act of 2002 (Republic Act 9175), and relevant administrative orders.
Rhett Arthur Diana, chief of the Conservation and Development Section, also presented key provisions of the Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act (Republic Act 9147).
The event was attended by key officials, including GENRO’s PENR Officer Leonard Pasiderio, PLEPSTF representative Engr. Moises Nava, and Provincial Legal Officer Atty. Ricsan Tormon. (DENR-6)
